Two Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Students have been selected as the winners of the 2024-25 CTE Graphic Design Course Catalog Cover Competition.
This was the second year of the competition, and judges received dozens of strong submissions. Rouse High School student Megan Schmitz’s cover was selected for the 2024-25 Middle School Course Catalog, and Leander High School Student Jazmine Zajac’s design was selected for the 2024-25 High School Course Catalog.
Rouse HS Audio-Visual and Design Teacher Channing Riggins said it has been a joy to get to know and teach Schmitz in class for the past three years.
“Meg did an excellent job on the course catalog, and I am thrilled to see Meg recognized for the fantastic work I get to see on a daily basis. Meg is fun, hardworking, and a creative force,” Riggins said. “Her winning design not only highlights her artistic talent but also embodies the spirit of growth and excellence within our graphic design program.”
Leander HS Teacher Lawrence Wesley said that Zajac is a vibrant and extraordinary student.
“For a 16-year-old to have developed a design eye the way she has is a testament to her talent, devotion to her craft and also how well LISD has allowed her to cultivate her skills!” Wesley said. “She is pleasant to have in class and I cannot wait to see how she flourishes after she graduates this year. Jazmine will be one to watch!”
