Leander ISD is recognizing its over 17,000 volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week from Feb. 10-14.

“Every school district knows how valuable volunteers are to our ecosystem,” said Heather Neds, LISD community relations coordinator. “From literacy partners who read one one-on-one with students to parents who attend field trips, we couldn’t do what we do as a district without them.”

The purpose of the Leander ISD volunteer program is to enrich the quality of education for the district’s students by providing opportunities for parents and community members to become actively involved in Leander ISD schools. These opportunities are numerous, and include participation in booster clubs and fundraisers; mentoring students through the HEROES program; joining other parents and teachers to advocate for students through a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA); serving as a positive campus influence through the WATCH D.O.G.S. program; and more.

Thank you to each and every Leander ISD volunteer!
