Wow! Thank you for the overwhelming number of responses – more than 1,000 – shared through the feedback form. Know that these responses will play a critical role in shaping what convocations look like moving forward.

In the interest of transparency, we wanted to share some of the top themes from survey responses:

  • Guest Speaker
The guest speaker was highly praised by the participants for being relatable, engaging, and inspiring. His message resonated with the attendees, regardless of their role, and left them feeling motivated for the upcoming school year. The speaker’s personal and professional experiences were appreciated, and his humor added to the overall positive perception. The participants felt that the speaker’s message was relevant and meaningful, contributing significantly to the success of the Convocation.
  • Logistics
Logistical issues, particularly related to parking and transportation, were frequently mentioned by the participants. The overlap between sessions caused congestion and stress, and the location of the event was considered too far for some. Suggestions for improvement included better traffic flow, more time between sessions, and clearer information about bus routes. Some participants also expressed a preference for a more central location within the district.
  • Student Involvement
The involvement of students in the Convocation was well-received by the participants. They appreciated the student performances and the role of students as emcees. The participants felt that the focus on students was appropriate and added to the energy and excitement of the event. They also expressed a desire for even more student involvement in future Convocations.
  • Venue
The choice of venue for the Convocation received mixed reviews. While some participants appreciated the professional setup and comfortable seating, others expressed discomfort with the event being held at a church. There were also concerns about the venue being outside the district boundaries. Suggestions for improvement included choosing a venue closer to the campuses and ensuring better accessibility.
  • Theme & Message
The theme and message of the Convocation were positively received by the participants. They found the theme to be relevant and the message to be inspiring. The participants appreciated the focus on serving every child and the recognition of teachers’ years of service. They also enjoyed the acknowledgment of the district’s history and traditions.
