The smallest gestures are making the biggest difference thanks to Leander ISD Volunteer of the Week Zandra “Sandy” Castaneda.
Sandy serves as Reed Elementary’s PTA hospitality chair. She coordinates monthly surprises for teachers and staff, like treat carts and “Taco Tuesday”. For every staff member’s birthday, she celebrates each individual with a card and a soda. She’s there to help. Whether it’s pitching in at all of our evening events, setting up our school store, and even participating in all the parent leadership meetings.
“Sandy is a dedicated volunteer,” Reed Elementary principal Paige Collier said. “She not only supports her son Zak’s second-grade classroom, but every classroom in the school.”
