LISD Students Breeze All over Texas to see what’s COOL

Almost 800 Leander ISD students traveled all over Central Texas and beyond to explore different career opportunities during COOL Week.
COOL stands for Career Opportunities On Location. Students got a peek at almost 200 businesses, some as far as Houston, Dallas and Galveston, for the work-based learning experience. Destinations included a wide variety of places like newsrooms, government offices, veterinary clinics and hi-tech companies.

Video Spotlight: Dell Scholar at Glenn HS

In Leander ISD, a district goal is to prepare each student for college and career success. Check out this video of Aleksei Edwards, a member of Glenn High School’s first graduating class, who was named a Dell Scholar. He is one of 500 students to receive this scholarship, which will offer ongoing support for the duration of his college career.

LISD Receives AP District Honor Roll

Leander ISD is one of 447 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll. To be included, LISD had to – since 2015 – increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.
