Fifth Grader Mikaeel Malik at Plain Elementary is the Leander ISD Super Kid of the Week!

According to Teacher Mandy Leaming, Mikaeel exemplifies what it looks like to pursue excellence. He always goes above and beyond what is expected of him inside and outside of the classroom, and is constantly thinking of ideas to make his school a better place.

One of Mikaeel’s ideas has transformed Plain’s school-wide reward system. He redesigned the school’s Pride PAWS to include the positive traits that Plain students try to demonstrate daily. He also filmed and edited videos of students showing the positive behaviors that will be rewarded so that they could be shared on our campus announcements.

“Mikaeel goes above and beyond in everything he does. Whether at home or school, he is consistently working on something academic,” Teacher Shelly Baker said. “Mikaeel is an all around awesome, creative and intelligent student! There is no doubt he will continue to soar to unimaginable heights!”

Mikaeel enjoys theater, technology, videography and being a part of No Place for Hate.
