Junior Alissyn Chan from Glenn High School is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Alissyn is a junior member of the Glenn varsity tennis and girls soccer teams. This year she was a member of the first district championship-winning tennis team at Glenn, placed fourth at tennis regionals and received All-District honors.
In soccer, Alissyn received the District 25-5A Utility Player of the Year award, making her the first ever girls soccer athlete at Glenn to win a district award voted on by all of the District 25-5A coaches.
“Alissyn is a true leader, being the first on the court and field always pushing herself and her teammates to improve. She is a dual-sport athlete that puts just as much or more dedication towards her grades as she does athletics,” Head Girls Soccer Coach Jennifer Womack said. “She embodies the GRIT +3 motto of Glenn High School.”
Alissyn is also a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, on the All-A Honor Roll and is enrolled in all Advanced Placement academic courses.
“Alissyn exemplifies hard work and leadership,” Head Tennis Coach Philip Dodd said.
