Putting those pads, cleats and helmet on for the first time can be pretty scary. That’s exactly what Hayden is doing as he prepares to play in his first football game. We’re celebrating Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week Hayden Stowe for conquering his fears head-on!

The Stiles Middle School seventh-grader plays for the Spartan football team. As a sixth-grade student, Hayden watched seventh and eighth-grade athletes walk the campus in their shirts and ties on game days. Now, he gets the opportunity to walk around proudly in his shirt and tie!

“Hayden is excited to start his football career playing for the Spartans,” Stiles MS athletic coordinator Paris Hodges said. “It began with mixed emotions of anxiousness and excitement, but after the first two weeks of football practice, Hayden said he has an excitement and anticipation of playing in his first live games on Tuesdays. Hayden consistently gives 100% and improves every day.”

In addition to his time in athletics, Hayden is an A/B student and has interest in joining the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) or Art Club. Hayden is also planning on participating on the Spartan track team in the spring.

We’re rooting for you, Hayden! Congratulations, LISD Student-Athlete of the Week Hayden Stowe.
