Teja Karamala from Wiley Middle School is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Teja is an eighth grade member of the Coyote football, basketball and track teams.
Wiley Middle School’s Boys Athletic Coordinator Casey Shrader said that Teja exemplifies what it means to be a great student athlete at Wiley.
“Teja has a work ethic that is second to none, whether it is staying after to get more free throws in, or running extra to ensure he is in great condition for the meet. Teja is valued both by his teammates and his coaches because of his many leadership attributes,” Shrader said. “Teja is the type of athlete that usually only comes around every few years. He is excited to learn and push himself to the limits to become the best version of himself on and off the field and court.”
Even while playing sports, Teja finds time to maintain outstanding grades. He is on the All-A Honor Roll and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
