First Grade Teacher Abigail Cotton At Mason Elementary School is the Leander ISD Staff Spotlight of the Week.
Classroom parent Kara Graff said that Cotton took the time to work with her very shy daughter on being brave enough to speak up in class. She set up systems that made this easier for both her daughter and other students, and was always encouraging.
“Mrs. Cotton is a literal ray of sunshine. She is the teacher every parent dreams their child will have,” Graff said. “She makes first grade so magical for her students, and always maintains a positive attitude.”
Graff also said that Cotton creates cute traditions in her classroom. Her daughter’s favorite was the desk fairy that left a treat and note on all of the clean desks. Her favorite was the class Elf, who was always getting into trouble!
