Saving and Paying for College

Representatives from the Texas Comptroller’s Office will provide information on several options to save for college including:

  • Texas Tuition Promise Fund Prepaid Tuition
  • Lonestar 529 Plan
  • Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan

Vendors and private financial advisors will be in the PAC lobby for additional information.

The Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for all Fall 2019 college students. Completing the FAFSA early is more important than ever for Texas high school students.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently changed the state FAFSA priority deadline to January 15, 2019. Information below is from the Coordinating Board.

Beginning with the 2019-20 academic year, all General Academic Teaching Institutions (GATIs) in Texas must publicize and use January 15 as the state priority deadline for identifying eligible students to be given priority in receiving awards through the state financial aid programs.
