For parents and guardians of students in Grades 3–12.

As we implement our five-year Strategic Plan and Community-Based Accountability Systems, the district will be conducting periodic “Pulse Surveys” of parents, teachers, and students. These Pulse Surveys will typically be short – five to 10 questions in length. We will be using random-sampling techniques in order to survey fewer teachers and students and have confidence in generalizing our findings.

Listening to our students’ voices is a critical part of our improvement efforts in LISD. Here are some examples of surveys that will be sent to a random sampling of students beginning later this month:

As we plan to administer these surveys, we want to provide parents with the opportunity to opt their child(ren) out of participation in district-level surveys like these for the school year. If you would not like your child(ren) to be included in the sample for district-level surveys, please complete this Survey Opt-Out Form. Please respond by Nov. 27, 2022, to opt-out of the Fall Surveys that will be deployed later in November. All Opt-out Forms, including those received after Nov. 27, 2022, will be considered for district-level surveys for the remainder of the 2022–23 school year.

Please feel free to contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
