A seasoned, experienced campus leader in early-childhood education will lead the Faubion Elementary School this fall. Reagan Elementary School Assistant Principal Staci Cordell is set to become Principal Panther after the Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring during Thursday night’s board meeting. Cordell replaces Donna LeJeune, who served Faubion as principal for the last two school years.
“Please join me in welcoming Staci Cordell as the next principal of Faubion Elementary,” Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. said. “Staci is an experienced leader who has a passion for empowering students and staff to achieve greatness. With a strong belief in partnering with staff and parents, she will work to continue to create a positive learning environment for each and every student that will only enhance the culture of Faubion Elementary.”
Cordell’s professional career began as a kindergarten teacher at Valley Ranch Elementary in Coppell ISD in 1999. After 6 years in the classroom, she served CISD as an elementary assistant principal at a pair of schools before joining Pflugerville ISD in 2010, serving as an AP at Riojas and Northwest elementaries. Cordell joined Leander ISD as an AP at Cypress Elementary in 2013 before moving on to Reagan Elementary, where she worked with various grade levels toward becoming highly effective PLC collaborative teams.
“I am truly honored to be joining the Faubion family!” Cordell said. “I look forward to working alongside the amazing staff and community to continue providing an outstanding campus culture where every child is known and loved. Through our partnerships, I wholeheartedly believe that we can continue the tradition of excellence that this incredible school exudes and provide a top-notch learning experience for all.”
A graduate of Angelo State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Cordell also earned her master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas.
