LISD Super Kid Sailor Hawkins is making waves showing respect for others!
Sailor attends second grade at Cox Elementary. As a trusted role model in the classroom, she leads by example. If her teacher Laura Mioton has an important job, she asks Sailor. She can trust her to always do the right thing.
“Sailor puts others before herself and really cares that her friends are being treated fairly,” Mrs. Mioton said. “She takes notice if others are struggling or having a hard time.”
That’s the tame of Sailor’s wild side. Her sense of adventure shows up in her favorite pastimes–surfing, dirt bike-riding and skateboarding. Throughout Virtual Empowered Learning, Sailor would ride around on her dirt bike during breaks. Having so much fun, Mrs. Mioton would have to remind her to come back to class!
