Extra! Extra! Read all about Jackson Meekma – this week’s LISD Super Kid!

Every single morning, the Larkspur Elementary fifth-grader helps lead the student body announcements, Lightning News. In fact, Jack is so consistently responsible for Lightning News, even the younger students have taken notice of his celebrity status.

“He’s very patient with our little kindergarten students who sit right by him during announcements,” Larkspur counselor Elsa Weick said. “From time to time, he even allows one of the little students to help type in a word on our slides.”

Weick said Jack’s bright smile and positive attitude rival his work ethic and warmth.

“He makes me want to be a better person,” she added.

When not reading the headlines for Larkspur, Jack lines up on the ice for his favorite sport. No high-sticking about it, he lives and breathes all things hockey, even writing a poem about it for Larkspur’s No Place for Hate initiative. In it, he’s humorously quoted as saying he’s always in the penalty box.

Jack is an all-around power play, and it’s a thrill to congratulate him for being an LISD Super Kid!
