The Leander ISD Elementary District Choir is a select group of talented students from 30 elementary schools. It offers members opportunities for personal, educational, emotional, and artistic growth through advanced choral instruction and performance.
Video auditions for the choir will be accepted from April 1-17.
Choir members will learn to match pitch, produce quality choral tones, and develop their musical skills by preparing diverse works from various traditions and cultures. Rehearsals require focus due to high musical expectations.
Students with a passion for music and a commitment to a year-long program are encouraged to audition.
Performances
Performances will include a Winter Concert (Dec. 2026), Spring Concert (April 2027), and several community functions throughout the school year. Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required. Exact dates will be announced in September, but the first rehearsal is Wed., Sept. 2, 2026.
Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:30 PM at Cedar Park Middle School.
Cost
The participation fee for members is $100. This covers the supplies, music, and rehearsal/concert venue reservations. There is a separate $15 fee for the uniform t-shirt. Scholarships may be available.
Audition Process
1. Use these two links to rehearse with. The first link is the practice link to sing along with. The second link is the accompaniment link. It is the one you should video your student singing along with. Practice many times before sending in your audition. Be sure to tell us your first and last name and what school you go to. You only get one shot!
2. Fill out the Audition Form — Link will be live on April 1
3. Make sure you use the correct email address you want us to use for notifications.
4. Video auditions are open until April 17, 2026 at 5:00pm. We will not accept late applications.
5. District music specialists will evaluate your audition using a rubric. See the website for more information.
