From Nov. 6–10, Leander ISD is celebrating Maintenance Appreciation Week.

A team of more than 100 employees work tirelessly to keep each LISD facilities in top shape. According to Assistant Director of Facilities Ray Warren, there are over 1200 acres of property maintained by the Plant Services staff.

Director of Facilities Joey Garner said that anything in the district that involves maintenance, upkeep and general repairs are things being taken care of by the maintenance department. Additionally, the department takes care of lawn care and athletic facilities.

“To do that it takes a lot of people pitching in at the same time,” Director of Facilities Joey Garner said. “All of these people kick in everything they can under all the circumstances. It’s been a tough year – we’ve had freezes and internal floods and extraordinarily hot summers that challenged us. And I’m really proud to be part of a group of people who stood up to those challenges, and in my opinion were very successful.”
