On Thursday, April 2 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., the Texas Department of Emergency Management will be testing emergency alert systems statewide. In alignment with the state’s request, Leander ISD will also be testing its emergency notification system.

As part of the test, Leander ISD will send an alert through ParentSquare, our district-wide communication platform, on April 2 at 11:30 a.m. The message will clearly state that this is only a test and not an actual emergency

Since many agencies are conducting this statewide drill, students, families and staff may receive several test alerts. The following scheduled times will impact our community directly:

  • 10:15 a.m.Travis County
  • 10:30 a.m. Williamson County
  • 11:10 a.m.City of Austin
  • 11:30 a.m. Leander ISD

Regular testing of public warning systems is critical to ensuring accurate and timely communication during emergencies. As part of Leander ISD’s commitment to preparedness, the district is conducting this drill to prepare our community to receive emergency messages, confirm system functionality and identify areas for improvement in the event of an actual emergency.

Now is a good time to ensure that your contact information is up to date with your students’ school and that you are receiving notifications via ParentSquare. For support, please submit a ticket via Onflo
