Recognized for her leadership and impact, Leander ISD Chief of Police Shā Rogers has been named a finalist in the second annual Women of Wilco Awards. The award recognizes exceptional female leaders in Williamson County.

Rogers joined Leander ISD in 2024 as the district’s executive director of safety and security with her sights set on formally establishing its first police department. That goal was realized in July of 2025 when the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) officially approved the Leander ISD Police Department. Rogers was sworn in as chief of police the following month.

In addition to continuing to grow and establish the police department, which serves 49 campuses as well as district owned facilities, Rogers is also pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership. She also serves as secretary of the board of directors of the Blue Santa program with the Leander Police Department.

Rogers’ recognition as a finalist highlights her impact as a role model for girls and women. Not only has she thrived in a male-dominated field, but she has done so with an attitude of continuous improvement, dedication and strength. She is guided in part by a fundamental principle: Always do the right thing for the right reasons.

Winners of the 2026 Women of Wilco Awards will be announced and honored at a reception to be held on March 6.
