Leander ISD is proud to name Vandegrift High School standout Parker Rogers as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!

Parker, the Colonel (head student leader) of the Legacies Dance Team, is in charge of leading the varsity dance team in rehearsals, during football games and on the competition floor. In past years, Parker has served as the Sophomore Sergeant and as a Lieutenant for the VHS Legacies. She has been recognized locally and regionally as an award-winning soloist and will be a member of the Texas Dance Educators Association All-State Dance Team this January. As a Dance Composition student, she is also in charge of choreography and assisting the Dance Team Prep class.

Parker’s influence and modeled behavior is imperative to her role as a student leader and to the way she guides her peers. She has been training at an elite level in all forms of dance and gymnastics for over 10 years. Parker is not only skilled in her discipline, but is a natural leader who enjoys her team and leads them with both strength and compassion.

“Parker is instrumental in our team’s success and culture,” said Legacies Director Holly Lyons. “Her competitive nature and spirit, combined with her talent and compassion, make her a strong and effective leader for the Legacies. She has the x-factor that can’t be taught, and this makes her a stand out performer in every way.”

Congratulations to Vandegrift High School’s Parker Rogers for being honored as the LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week!
