Winkley Elementary School gained a new leader after Erin Uhlaender was approved as the new principal by the Leander ISD Board of Trustees at Monday’s meeting.
“We are thrilled to announce Erin Uhlaender as the new Winkley Elementary School principal,” said Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “She brings passion for reaching every learner and possesses a strong instructional lens around inquiry that will build upon the incredible learning journey Winkley has already started.”
Uhlaender currently serves as the assistant principal at Tarvin Elementary School. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal at Parkside Elementary School. Uhlaender has 10 years of classroom experience, teaching prekindergarten, kindergarten and first grade, in Lockhart ISD, Dripping Springs ISD and Leander ISD. She also spent a year as an instructional facilitator at Dripping Springs Elementary School.
“I am honored to join the thriving learning community at Winkley Elementary,” Uhlaender said. “I look forward to continuing the innovative learning experiences students are growing through and tapping into the genius of each and every Wolverine.”
Uhlaender received a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Hardin-Simmons University. She later earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
