Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Safa Maredia loves medical science so much she just has to share it.
The Leander High School junior helped create a “mini-med” camp where middle schoolers get a firsthand look at the medical field and the health science program at LHS. Safa is the treasurer for LHS’ Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) chapter, where she works hard to make sure that HOSA is successful while going above and beyond with her coursework.
“Safa is a health science teacher’s dream; her love of medicine, natural leadership abilities, attention to detail and hard-working mentality are exactly what the world of medicine needs,” LHS health science teacher Amber Hall said. “She will be a phenomenal health care provider.”
Safa is currently taking Health Science Theory, where students learn about medical vocabulary related to medical procedures, human anatomy and physiology. The class encourages students to think critically, make decisions, solve problems and communicate effectively. Upon completion, she can receive certification in First Aid and CPR.
Congratulations to Leander High School’s Safa Maredia, the LISD CTE Student of the Week!
