The January CTE Partner of the Month is Cedar Park Regional Medical Center for their established partnership with our Health Science program by providing advanced students with invaluable learning experiences.

Cedar Park Regional Medical Center has welcomed health science students from both Cedar Park and Leander High School to spend 10 weeks out of each school year doing clinical rotations. During these rotations, students observe and interact with healthcare workers as well as patients in an authentic healthcare setting.

“Cedar Park Regional Medical Center’s contribution to the Leander ISD health science program has had a significant impact on our students and their futures,” LHS Health Science Teacher Amber Hall said. “Real-world experience is not able to be replicated in a laboratory setting or classroom, therefore, the opportunity for our students to get those real world interactions could not happen without Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.”

Hall also said the administration team at Cedar Park Regional have always been welcoming of Leander ISD students and have even gone on to hire several after they’ve completed college. Leander CTE is proud to recognize Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and look forward to continued partnership for many years to come.

Each month of the 2023-24 school year, the Career and Technical Education department of Leander ISD is recognizing a community partner that has made an exceptional impact on the district’s CTE students or programs. These partnerships are at the core of CTE’s mission to give students valuable, hands-on learning experiences with industry professionals.
