Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) students have the opportunity to join the Air Force or Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC).

“JROTC is a leadership developmental program. When you wear your uniform we teach you discipline,” Vista Ridge High School student Emily Toro said. “Everything we do is to prepare you for future jobs that do not have to correlate with the military.”

Students in JROTC have the opportunity to participate on teams including marksmanship, Cyber Patriot, Color Guard and others.

“My favorite part about being involved in the Air Force JROTC program is really just getting to know everyone in the group and getting those opportunities to lead others and learn how to lead others and really organize something in order for an organization to evolve and grow,” Leander High School student Tyler Eckert said.
