One of the many exciting benefits for students in Leander ISD Career & Technical Education classes is the opportunity to join and participate in a variety of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO). These organizations provide students the chance to apply their CTE curriculum in competitive events as well as develop their leadership skills for the future.
CTSO opportunities for students in our Architecture & Construction program of study include SkillsUSA and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
SkillsUSA is a national organization representing nearly 400,000 CTE students and teachers from across the country, with local chapters in each community. The organization’s mission is to support students strengthening hands-on skills in more than 140 occupational areas.
Another CTSO opportunity for some students in the Architecture & Construction program of study is FFCLA. This organization provides students opportunities to put their course knowledge and skills to work in a variety of competitions. Students involved in FCCLA are offered opportunities to expand their leadership potential and develop life skills like planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication.
