Since food and nutrition are so closely linked with the ability to learn, we want to make sure students have food over the weekend so they are ready to learn when they arrive at school on Monday. For this reason, the Leander ISD Backpack Program was created. This program provides participating students with a small bag of food each Friday afternoon. There is no cost for the participant’s family for the food.
LISD is proud to have the local community group, HopeAustin, providing additional food support to students who may be in need. Backpack Program Form 2023-2024
Once a week non-perishable items will be delivered to the school for your child to bring home for your family. If you are interested in having your child participate in our SRE Backpack Program, please submit your google form linked below. Food bags will be sent home beginning Friday, September 1.
