Trustees approved eSchoolPlus, a product of PowerSchool Group, LLC, as the district’s new system for student grades, attendance, and other data management starting in the 2019-20 school year.
School districts are required by state, local and federal governments to track student data in compliance with programs and guidelines. A student information system also allows LISD to communicate with families and staff to improve student success.
“It’s extremely important to make sure our technology continues to serve the best interests of our families and the needs of our rapidly growing district,” Board President Aaron Johnson said. “The new student information system will increase functionality, ensure long-term viability to meet state reporting requirements while safeguarding student data.”
The district will negotiate the final contract immediately and hopes to finalize plans in January for a July rollout of the new system.
“I am excited about the improved functionality the new system will offer,” said Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D. “This will result in increased productivity for staff and a much better user experience for teachers, parents and students.”
