On April 1, 2021 Mayor Troy Hill, City Council members, and the citizens of Leander celebrated the 50th Anniversary of early childhood education advocacy by proclaiming April 10-16, 2021 as the Week of the Young Child.
Not only are our youngest learners having a blast at school each day, but they are also growing and developing at a rapid pace! With the majority of brain development occurring before kids are 5 years old, early education is imperative to help kids develop properly and be ready to take on the world one day! We have dedicated and passionate teaching teams all throughout Leander ISD who are making learning fun and engaging through play. Our early learning programs include PreK, Parents as Teachers, Child Find, Special Education, and Young Parent Services. PreK registration is now open, so sign up now!
Our amazing early childhood teachers and instructional aides deserve to know how much their dedication to our kids means this week.
