HB 496 mandates that Texas school districts offer annual bleeding control training to students in grades 7–12. With that in mind, the district will hold voluntary training opportunities for a maximum of 100 students.
To maintain appropriate instructor-to-student ratios, pre-registration is required for participation. Upon registering, students will receive a link to the Wilco EMS Outreach – Stop the Bleed: Hemorrhage Control Training online course. Completion of the full course and passing the accompanying knowledge check is mandatory and serves as the student’s admission to the hands-on skills session.
Only students whose names appear on the official completion spreadsheet—verifying both course viewing and a passing score—will be permitted to attend the in-person training.
In-Person Training
We will be offering two opportunities to attend this training. All training sessions will run from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., though sessions may end earlier depending on attendance. Please ensure timely transportation arrangements are made in case the session concludes before 6:00 p.m.
