Boom! Brilliance strikes again with #1LISD Super Kid Matthew Shields.
At River Ridge Elementary, you can count on the fifth-grader to do the right thing. His positive attitude and willingness to jump in and help anyone–student, teacher, or parent–speaks volumes about who he is. Filled with modesty, Matthew would never brag on himself. His character, kindness, and integrity are unmatched, truly leading by example.
“Matthew is one of a kind!” River Ridge Elementary Principal Shelley Roberts said. “As a Rattler News crew member, he has become a vital part of our morning announcements. In addition, he shows kindness to others, brimming with respect and hard work. I’ve found so much joy seeing Matthew develop into such a great young man over the years here at River Ridge. He is off to do big things!”
Not only can you spot Matthew delivering the news, he also serves on the Wellness team and as a student ambassador. Outside of school, Matthew plays on the Four Points Pop Warner football team.
