Westside Elementary School has been recertified as a Lighthouse School by the Leader in Me program, a prestigious honor and continued evidence of Westside’s accomplishments since their original certification in 2019.

The Lighthouse Recertification Review is an assessment process for schools to reflect and celebrate their accomplishments since receiving their original Lighthouse Certification. To earn Lighthouse Certification, schools must demonstrate growth and innovation within The Leader in Me Framework, be evaluated by certified Franklin Covey reviewers and implement a continuous process of school improvement.

Westside demonstrated growth in all areas – leadership, culture and academics – since their original certification in 2019.

“Our campus has been a Leader in Me school for eight years, with the past four years being recognized as a Lighthouse Campus. We are one of three schools in Leander ISD with this distinction!” Principal Amanda Lillard said. “Having a culture centered around leadership is the foundation to all we do here at Westside. We begin our fifth school year with this distinction, and we could not be prouder of our students, staff and community!”

Leander ISD’s Rutledge Elementary and Reed Elementary are also certified Lighthouse and Leader in Me schools.
