Students, employers and educators joined together at the 2018 LIVE (Leander Independent Vocational Education) celebration at the Twin Lakes YMCA in Cedar Park Wednesday, April 25. This year’s theme was, “Stepping Into the Future.”

Each year, in connection with LISD Vocational and SELF Services, the event celebrates students with disabilities and their employers. LISD’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Supported Employment programs partner with employers in the LISD community to provide a learning environment for LISD students to grow their skills and independence, with the ultimate goal of obtaining a paid job or permanent volunteer placement. Additionally, the event celebrates Vocational and SELF teachers, job coaches and transportation staff who make the programs possible.

Thank you to the Cedar Park 1431 Chick-fil-A store for providing lunch for the seventh year!
