Sanjeev Ramkumar, a senior and star tennis player from Leander High School, is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Sanjeev has received numerous honors in tennis, including being named the LHS Tennis MVP in his freshman, sophomore and junior years; being named the Capital Area Tennis Association’s MVP; making the Academic All-District Team; and being named to the Second Team All-District Boys Doubles team.
Sanjeev has been team captain for two years as a result of his consistently stellar performance and leadership abilities. According to Matt Kostoff, head tennis coach at LHS, Sanjeev “leads from the front.”
“Sanjeev is a very hard working and coachable player. He is always striving to improve his game and is an excellent role model to our underclassmen,” Kostoff said. “He pushes himself and his teammates to rise up and achieve goals they may think are not attainable.”
Sanjeev is currently ranked 34th in his class at LHS. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is a University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering Enrichment program participant.
