Room Change for Leander ISD Board Meetings

AUGUST 21, 2023

We appreciate the patience of the Leander ISD community as we strive to continuously improve the experience of the LISD Board of Trustee meetings. In an effort to accommodate more participants at the Concordia University location, the meeting room will change to room B-202. This change will impact the Thursday, August 24th meeting.

For those attending in person, please keep in mind the district has a clear bag policy. You can only bring your belongings inside the meeting room if they are in a clear bag. Parking is available in Parking Lot B. The meeting will take place in Concordia’s IncubatorCTX, located in Building B, Room B-202 located on the upper level. The map below will help you navigate where you are headed.

Attendees may address the Board through citizens’ comments. Registration begins at noon the day before the Board meeting until noon on the day of the meeting. This notification is solely intended to share the change to the Board meeting room.

If you are unable to attend in person, please keep in mind the Board meetings will be livestreamed in its entirety and archived to view at a later time.

AUGUST 4, 2023

Prior to 2019, Leander ISD Board of Trustee meetings were held in different parts of the district to encourage community members from around the district to stay engaged with the decisions of the Board.

In response to recent community feedback, the Board has been examining how to once again provide opportunities for community members from different parts of the district to engage in person at board meetings. With that in mind, the Board has decided to explore the concept of rotating meetings periodically throughout the community, which spans three cities, two counties as well as parts of six other municipalities.

On Thursday, August 10, the Board meeting will take place at Concordia University. The district will communicate future board meeting locations as soon as possible once logistical details have been finalized.

“Leander ISD spans 200-square miles,” Board President Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia, Ph.D., said. “This effort gives us the best approach to increasing engagement of the entire community to voice their ideas and, in turn, give them the ability to see how the Board is effectively serving #1LISD students.”

The district will continue to provide livestreaming of the Board meetings in their entirety. The district’s clear bag policy will also remain in effect. Attendees will still have the opportunity to sign up for citizen comments from noon the day before the Board meeting to noon the day of the Board meeting. The only revision to Board meetings is the location.

If you are planning on attending in person, you can park in Parking Lot B. The August 10th meeting will be held in Building C, Room C-125. Please refer to the map to find where to park and where the meeting will be located specifically.

We would like to thank Concordia University for partnering with us on this location change.
