LISD Super Kid Zahida has turned the tables! With all the makings of a fabulous student, she has made a spectacular teacher.
When she was six years old, Zihida immigrated to the United States from Afghanistan. The Bagdad Elementary fifth-grader is growing into an extraordinarily talented writer in her non-native language. Fluent in reading and writing in Pashto, she also knows some Farsi. She balances embracing her heritage with learning a new culture with grace and style.
“Zahida works hard and is very successful whether she is virtual or in-person,” Bagdad Elementary fifth-grade teacher Roger Marsh said. “I believe Zahida can do anything well.”
Zahida flexes her artistic talents through designs and sewing. She showcases her physical strength playing basketball and soccer. Even though she has a keen interest in law enforcement and the military, Zahida is leaning toward being a doctor or an architect when she grows up.
She makes me want to be her when I grow up! Congratulations Zahid– LISD Super Kid!
