Another incredible marching band season in #1LISD comes to a close, and once again, our bands set the standard for excellence at the 2025 UIL State Marching Band Contest.
Two Leander ISD bands led the way as the top 5A high school bands in Texas. The Cedar Park High School Timberwolf Band claimed the State Championship for the seventh-consecutive year, bringing home the gold medal for the ninth time in school history. Right behind them, the Rouse High School Raider Band earned the Silver Medal in the competition, the band’s third consecutive State Runner-Up title. Also in the 5A competition, the Leander High School Lion band placed 6th along Texas’ very best.
In the 6A division, Vandegrift High School earned the Bronze Medal, an impressive accomplishment, especially after an accident involving their equipment rig hours before their preliminary performance. Thanks to the support of the #1LISD and the Texas band community, instruments were loaned to the band, allowing them to perform at the competition. The Vista Ridge Rangers also represented LISD with distinction, earning 6th place.
The 2025 season also marked the second time in a row that all six Leander ISD bands qualified for the State Contest, with Glenn High School earning 23rd place in the preliminary round.
From first note to final step, our #1LISD bands continue to make us proud. Achievements like these showcase the commitment, talent and determination that are thriving across our schools in Leander ISD. Congratulations to all our amazing students!
