Leander ISD was awarded the 2021 Large Business of the Year by the Leander Chamber of Commerce at their 75th Diamond Anniversary Gala on Saturday, Oct. 23. This award nomination came from a committee of people that evaluated our time, contributions and efforts to participate in their chamber and our community.

Charlie E. Rouse, former principal of Leander High School (1981-1997) and Rouse High School’s namesake, was also recognized as the 2021 Citizen of the Year at this event. When Charlie came to LHS, the school district was about to lose its accreditation with TEA and he was the catalyst that made LHS what it is today. He has served on various committees and activities for the school district, including being a panel judge for the Senior Project. Through the years, he has remained supportive of our school district.
