LISD administration has made the decision to cancel the contract with ESS, the vendor managing recruitment, on-boarding and reporting of our substitues. Ths partnership will remain in effect until the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Beginning July 2022, services to fill substitute needs will be managed internally. Eliminating this contract will save the district an estimated $1.2 million.
A few important notes for ESS substitutes:
- ESS will continue to manage the substitute program through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
- Current ESS subs will need to apply to LISD as a substitute teacher (once we post the 22-23 postings).
- All ESS subs who apply will be hired by LISD.
- Once hired through LISD, a transitioning sub WILL NOT need to get fingerprinted again; however, they will be required to complete the LISD onboarding process as well (because ESS and LISD are two separate employers, the federal government requires this separate paperwork to be processed).
