Leander ISD is celebrating Facilities Appreciation Week Nov. 7-11, recognizing the tireless efforts of our maintenance department, our grounds crew and all who help ensure our students attend the best schools.
Together, this group cares for 41 campuses with Energy Star certifications, more than 1,400 acres of grass and athletic fields, more than 134 acres of roofs and more than 6.8 million square feet of enclosed building areas.
By nature, a lot of their work is done at odd hours and behind the scenes. Their work – from mowing the grass, to striping the athletic fields, to HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) repairs, to inspecting playgrounds, to maintaining the tens of thousands of irrigation heads across the district, and much, much more – all contributes to providing the very best for our students.
On behalf of LISD, we say thank you!
