Leander ISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Keeton Field speaks business by speaking to the heart of young children.

Through Vandegrift High School’s INCubator program, Keeton learned the basic concepts of business start-ups to help create Bamboo Box alongside his team. The monthly subscription box helps grow a child’s creative and critical thinking skills through engaging, hands-on learning. Keeton’s team was one of the six funded teams chosen to move on to ACCelerator during VHS INCubator’s inaugural year. This next step as a start-up helps students market their products and develop more advanced business skills.

This year in ACCelerator, Keeton has led his team to excellence. They have worked tirelessly to perfect their product and promote it to customers. That has included many visits to elementary schools in the district to share their product with potential customers–parents and young students–and get feedback from them.

Last fall, Bamboo Box formed their LLC, and on Black Friday, they launched their business and started selling to customers. Since then Bamboo Box has sold boxes to customers in Texas and beyond!

“Working with Keeton in INCubator and ACCelerator has been a wonderful experience that we will remember for many years to come,” Vandegrift High School ACCelerator teacher Erin Mathis said. “He is so bright and so hard working. We can’t wait to see what he does in his future as an entrepreneur!”

Keeton’s business savvy will continue to grow at Texas A&M University where he will be attending in the fall.

Thumbs up for LISD CTE Student of the Week Keeton Field, whose dedication to the business, his teammates, and work is astounding!
