A young man’s passion led to helping others during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s what makes Ryan Liu Leander ISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week!

Ryan started to voluntarily attend Williamson County Medical Reserve Corp meetings out of the desire to serve others in need. Through his initiative, the Cedar Park High School sophomore created a connection between WCCHD MRC & Cedar Park HS HOSA that has strengthened a commitment to public health. As a result, Ryan has worked diligently to recruit other HOSA members to be part of this partnership.

Ryan’s outpouring of service led his team through several endeavors: creating holiday cards for senior citizens, making Alzheimer’s blankets for shaky hands and educating fellow students about COVID-19. Ultimately, he submitted these initiatives to HOSA’s Area One MRC competition. Ryan’s amazing MRC team won third place and is advancing to State! Great job, Ryan!

“He is a kind person and exceptional student that has demonstrated his natural leadership skills by starting this team and running with it!” Cedar Park HS health science teacher Shannon McPherson said. “I’m super excited to see what else he will achieve in the future!”

With vitals so strong, we’re proud to recognize Ryan Liu–LISD CTE Student of the Week!
