Be our guest! Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Savannah Freeman is at your service.

Savannah Freeman, Rouse High School senior, is taking Lodging and Resort Management & Hospitality Services. Within these particular programs, Savannah is learning skills in marketing, operations and industry-wide customer service.

Due to COVID-19 this year, students can’t fulfill the internship part of their class. However, that has left Savannah undeterred. She has received three certifications through the lodging and resort management pathway: ServSafe Food Handler, TABC Seller-Server permit and ServSafe Food Protection Manager. Even more so, she’s adding to that impressive resume. Savannah is preparing to take the American Hotel Lodging and Educational Institute Year 1 certification exam. While voluntary, the certification helps demonstrate knowledge and proficiency that lead to a competitive edge.

An excellent role model for other students in the program, Savannah shows a willingness to lend a helping hand when asked. Rouse High School hospitality program coordinator Jodi Garner believes Savannah’s perseverance and innovation are going to shape the next generation of workers in the hospitality industry.

“Savannah exemplifies the heart and soul of the hospitality industry–a passion for serving others,” she said. “Savannah embodies what it means to be a part of Leander ISD’s Hospitality program.”

For a splendid student with all the first-class amenities, we give a five-star rating to LISD CTE Student of the Week Savannah Freeman!
