The resurgence of the super hero surrounds us. From the action-packed Marvel Studios blockbuster hits that boasted Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to the ordinary folks who stole our hearts serving others in the viral YouTube clips #SomeGoodNews, we love a good story filled with victory, reunions and happily ever afters.
We’re not quite there.
While we grieve for a school year that isn’t what we envision, we are #1LISD. Strength and courage shine through our connections because of our devotion to students, colleagues and mentors. Back to School may have us entering Zoom rooms instead of a classroom, but that doesn’t change who we are and what we’re meant to do.
Leander ISD invites you to join us in celebrating the beginning of what could be our finest school year. Our Convocation promises to breathe new life into old patterns as we turn the event into a show live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook LIVE. The program is scheduled for Friday, August 7 at 8:30 a.m.
We hope to deliver the positive vibes you’re used to thanks to some familiar faces as well as a unique and fun student performance. Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) will showcase the recipients of the foundation’s collaborative grants. We will also hear from Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D whose commitment to not giving up will echo throughout an open, honest and transparent message.
Thank you to our teachers and staff who understand heroism isn’t a costume. It’s a state of mind.
