Opened in the fall of 1976, Leander ISD’s second elementary school — Faubion Elementary School — is named after former LISD teacher Ada Mae Faubion, and this year, the school is celebrating it’s 40-year anniversary!
Faubion taught at LISD schools for over 40 years, taking only a brief sabbatical in the midst of the Great Depression. Faubion made a positive impact on the lives of many students and remained a loyal supporter of LISD after her retirement.
