We’re fired up for Vista Ridge High School Assistant Principal Barbara Ixba! The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) has recognized Ixba as Region 13 High School Assistant Principal of the Year. Colleagues had the chance to nominate her, giving high praise for inspiring confidence and creating meaningful relationships.
Ixba became assistant principal at Vista Ridge in 2016. Promoted to the leadership role from within, she came to the district two years prior as a speech & debate teacher. Her experience in instructional leadership and campus culture show her devotion to high-quality education.
“I am blessed to be a part of a phenomenal team at VRHS,” Ixba said. “The Ridge is an amazing community of life-long learners who work tirelessly to serve students with a smile.”
Ixba creates a trio of esteemed leaders at Vista Ridge who have recently received accolades. Principal Paul Johnson was named TASSP Region 13 Principal of the Year. The campus’ associate principal Byron Ellison received the same honor as Ixba last year.
Ixba graduated from Oral Roberts University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She also holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia Unversity.
