Applications for the Leadership LISD Class of 2026 are now open for community members interested in learning more about Leander ISD directly from district leaders and through the hands-on participation offered in this nine-month program.

“We are inviting parents, community members, and local business partners to apply to become part of the Leadership LISD class of 2026,” Assistant Director of Community Relations Heather Neds said. “I’ve had the privilege of being a part of the Leadership LISD planning team for the past three years and still look forward to attending each class.  I learn something new every time.”

The Leadership LISD experience allows district parents and community members to gain in-depth knowledge about the various programs and departments in Leander ISD. Nine classes are held throughout the school year at different district locations – from transportation facilities to school campuses to the science materials center – with each class focused on a specific department or program. School finance and relevant legislative topics are also addressed throughout the year.

“The love and dedication of LISD and its employees to our students’ care and development are abundantly clear.” Leadership LISD Graduate Staci Mickler said. “I was blown away by the phenomenal facilities and wealth of opportunities available for our kids to explore their different interests.”

Leadership LISD graduates appreciated hearing directly from department leaders and staff, and many enjoyed their school visits during their “Principal for a Day” school and classroom visits at the end of the year.

“The program gave me a new appreciation for the scope and complexity of the district’s work—and how it positively impacts every student and family,” said Leadership LISD 2025 Graduate Tim Bagnall.

Leadership LISD classes will be held on Wednesdays once a month during the school year at various locations throughout the district. These classes are currently scheduled for Sept  3  –  Oct 1   –  Nov 5   –   Dec  3  –   Jan 7   –   Feb 4   –   Mar 4   –   Apr 1   –   May 6.
