Eighth Grader Liam Mongold from Wiley Middle School is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Liam is an eighth grade member of the Coyote football, basketball and track teams. In addition to being the captain of the football team, he is also on the A Honor Roll and a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Wiley Middle School Boys Athletic Coordinator Casey Shrader said that Liam brings a positive attitude during his academic classes and to all sports practices and games.
“Liam encourages other athletes to be leaders on campus by demonstrating positive behaviors. Liam is one of the most supportive athletes that we have on campus,” Shrader said. “Liam is very inclusive when he is walking through the halls and is always ready to help others. Liam is a fantastic athlete and will be successful regardless of what sports he chooses to play.”
