Leander High School sophomore Oscar Morin is the Leander ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week.
Oscar is part of the Electrical Technology and Engineering CTE program and serves as the SkillsUSA chapter president. Last year as a freshman, he led the Quiz Bowl team to a second place finish during the team’s first-ever trip to compete in the state championships.
Oscar currently has a perfect 100 average in his classes, and in 2021-2022 he had an average of 99 in his classes for the school year.
“In my 15 years here at LHS, Oscar is the first freshman that has been elected as a SkillsUSA District 10 officer,” Ronny Williams, electrical tech teacher at LHS, said. “He was the most advanced first year student, and now second year student, that I have ever had.”
Oscar is also a member of the LHS wrestling team.
