Congratulations are in order for the Cedar Park High School Celebrities dance team!
The Celebrities were selected to perform in the 2024 Macy’s Parade on Thanksgiving Day in New York City on Nov. 28 with the Spirit of America Dance Stars. The group brings together over 600 dancers from all over the country for this annual parade. The Celebrities earned their spot by participating in a camp last year.
For the parade, they performed a high-energy jazz routine to a Charli XCX mix. They learned the choreography on their own ahead of time and had just two days of rehearsals in New York City to bring it all together.
“Nikki and I are so proud of the Celebrities and how well they performed in the parade,” said Katie Thompson, assistant director of dance at Cedar Park High School. “They marched 2.5 miles in pouring rain and cold temperatures before giving an incredible televised performance in front of Macy’s. This fall semester has been super busy for the Celebrities, but their hard work and dedication at every practice really paid off.”
