Congratulations to Jimmy Disler, Chief Facilities Officer, on being awarded the Association for Learning Environments Southern Region Planner of the Year Award for 2021!
Jimmy has spent the last 23 years of his 35 plus year career with Leander ISD improving the learning environment for all students and has managed $1.74 Billion in bond funding during that time. He has helped shape the mission of the district to create dynamic, 21st-century learning environments built around “neighborhood” concepts such as flexible and collaborative areas, natural lighting, and outdoor spaces. Jimmy successfully implemented this pioneering vision even as Leander ISD experienced astronomical growth, with enrollment increasing from 3,400 students to over 43,000 during his tenure.
Jimmy helped start the Central Texas Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments with just a handful of members, and the chapter has now grown to over 220 members. His various roles within A4LE have been CTX Chapter President, Southern Region President, and Southern Region Representative to the International Board.
